The coat I sewed this week. It's not entirely done- it's not lined, there are no clasps/buttons (they will not be buttons, really. I'm not sewing buttonholes) Also, I used newspaper as a replacement for interfacing because I didn't have any, so I''ll probably rework that later. But that may take a bit to get to, so I'm uploading pics now.

The pattern was made by me, on pieces of newspaper, roughly based off the design of Howl's coat (from the movie Howl's Moving Castle)- which I plan to make later, because I decided that I like it . This started as a mock-up for that one. For the shoulders/sleeve connections I looked at an old pattern lying around my house (there are so many really ugly clothing patterns from the 80's living in my house *shudder*)
The material is uphostry fabric, from a huge bolt my grandmother gave me years ago. I always thought it was pretty ugly, but it looks much better as a coat. I could outfit the entire von Trapp family with what's leftover . . . maybe I should start sewing Lederhosen
I think its wool, but I'm not sure. I'd have to light it on fire to find out . . . hehehe

The bottom hem of the sleeves and coat is hand-sewn, because my sewing machine needle broke and I didn't have another one. Such is life . . . XD
