Its like a mirror of my own thoughts...guess every single human can easily reflect him/herself in your work
in the end the two are one, down there in the human shell....
its beautiful and disgusting .. ah that picture just reflects even itself..

Only just got around to looking at all the new work submitted. As always an interesting piece - I get the ying/yang thing, but am wondering what the significance is of the person in the middle of the statue?
Happy New Year.

Amazing. I love it how you have kept the background very simple by using block of colour to represent the autumn foliage, which in turn helps the eye focus on the central image. Your choice of colours is also very well planed, making the viewer circle the central figures, starting from the right pale looking woman and going around to the red armed figure at the pieces centre, until it trails of to the bottom following the golden chain (or so it did with me). Keep up the good work!

Wow... A really awesome pic. ^_^ I love how it totally symbolises the tao that we cannot be without good and evil... X3
Very creative though. I love how well you thought outside of the box with something as simple as Yin and Yang. ^_^ *favs*

it's amazing.. it's painful but quiet , graceful and frightening ,horror fright mysterious things peace , all'in there... perfect composition ,extraordinary and so strange concept .. i just dislike the back ground colour i think it should have been better a little darker , or more contrasted (bright near the people and dark around)
but it's just..splendid after all...

i love this. what i see in it (as far as the chackle goes) is that purity is a slave to itself...(maybe a personal belief...?) and maybe that you your self feel torn between two worlds...i would put more but yeah...

Boring? Ahem... I don't get that at all. This piece has fantastic symmetry with the balanced figures of light and dark on either side of the obelisk, the dark being frozen in a wailing scream, the light with an almost succubus-like look of invitation to a whole host of delights. The yin/yang instead of a face, highlighting the overall neutrality and empahsizing again balance. Temperance. Or perhaps the quest for it, maybe even a pictoral observance of introspection within a troubled soul. The arms cradling the third figure further enhance the sense of balance, curious the side with the lighter figure is manacled wheras the more demonic of the two shows no cuff. A hint of the unrestrained nature of chaos while order obeys certain structures?
The central figure is embraced, almost as if within the womb, one arm showing either a tattoo of fire or covered in what could be blood. Perphaps a comingling of both. Still a serene expression of slumber. Resting within the embrace of the statue (?) while the influences of the world wrestle around it.
The colors are wonderful. Muted, and somewhat earthy, setting a somber tone but somehow within their restrained nature showing a vibrancy, as if sunlight sneaky from behind a mass of clouds before the storm. Almost as if suggesting some violent explosion when the figure finally awakens. You've also captured an amazing symmetry of all 4 figures within the painting that is rare and beautiful. All in all, a gripping image. One that stirs the soul and leaves the viewer (at least this one) questioning their own place within the cosmos and their own stance between order and chaos.

When I first saw this pic, I was rendered speechless. This truly is an amazing artwork even when compared to the rest of your great gallery. The contrast and the symbolism in this piece is simply marvelous. I enjoy how the stone sentry is faced with two opposing decisions - to protect the girl, or to crush her. The color choice is also great. I'm normally not a fan of green, but it pulls the piece together. Making the demon green as opposed to the standard black was an excellent choice to make. The demon itself is an excellent example of how to use the Flow:Fade tool in photoshop to its fullest extent. The secondary lighting is simple, and not overdone.
If I were to critique the piece, my only complaints would be minor anatomy flaws - especially the girl's knees and ankles. The enlarged finger on the demon was obviously intentional, but I do not see the purpose of it - it just seems odd to me.
This is one of my favorite pieces by far after browsing hundreds of galleries, which is why it deserves a fav. Good job.

Your paintings seem to tell really deep stories (whether intentional or not). I adore how you painted the person cradled in the statue[?].
