- Is missing an eye. The one side of his face was horribly burnt after his camp was assaulted by a large group of Affected from Enigma. While fighting them off, a Molotov was thrown at him. He didn't see it coming and was hit on the side of the face. His eye was too badly burnt to keep, so it was removed. His arm on that side was also badly burnt from the same Molotov.
- Hates Enigma with a passion.
- Although he is Ambi-Affected, he chooses to fight his violent urges that come and go, he'd rather stay true to his morals and humanity rather than be consumed by the insanity of it. His son however struggles to fight his own urges. Vaxten does his best to help his son to learn to overcome it.
- Wishes to help regular folk in their collapsed society, he'd rather protect the people than kill them like the Affected. He wishes to try and change the views regular folks have on the Ambi-Affected. He wants to build a better reputation for them by showing that they can choose to be good.
- Was taken by force and put into the PROCESS system for a few years. Like others there, he was forced to reproduce with someone he didn't know. Kadelos was born through this system. Vaxten actually became friends with the woman he was paired with, her name was Ericka. They of course had no attraction to each other despite having been forced to have a child. A month or so after Kadelos' birth, Vaxten and Ericka took their son and managed to escape the PROCESS facility. But unfortunately after a few days of being free, they were ambushed by a group of Affected. Ericka who was not an Affected or Ambi-Affected was immediately targeted and killed by them. She was beaten to death with a metal pipe. Vaxten, who was trying to protect her and their son was quickly overpowered and fled with the infant knowing he couldn't save Ericka by that point. What he never actually knew and still doesn't know is that the Affected man who struck down Ericka was the father of Matt. Matt doesn't obviously know that either. Regardless, Vaxten despises Matt, even though Matt is a friend to his son Kadelos. He doesn't like any Affected.
