NWR No.12 ‘Emily’, the last single wheeler in the country, still in operation & the only pre-NWR locomotive still on the roster.

Allocated to the Kellsthorpe to Kirk Ronan Branch, the engine was one of the first NWR engines to leave their shed after the 48 hour lockdown period and had WD written on the bufferbeam.

Seen here with Wellsworth Vicarage Traction engine ‘Trevor’ clearing debris towards Suddery, because of the locomotive’s lack of strength, she was placed on maintenance and clearing duties, mostly around Cumbria and Sodor.

Locomotive is now preserved at the Ffarquhar Branch Heritage Railway.
