I guess the biggest influence was Masahiro Ito and Takayoshi Sato's concept art for the games. Sato is a classically trained artist, so he does pencil and conte monochrome work that's looks very much like old master work. And Ito's pencil work on the monster is nothing short of divine; again, influenced heavily by old master work (a lot of Da Vinci influence). While I do like his cg work a whole lot, his monochrome brush ink work is amazing.

It's too bad that Sato doesn't work for Konami anymore...but MS snagged him up at least; seems like he enjoys it more, though . And Ito's still doing a lot of SH work. Hopefully, he's at least working on SH5... He didn't get to work on SH4, but he's been doing work on the novels and digital comics.

Pyramid Head is probably one of the scariest Silent Hill villains, if not the scariest. He certainly holds a lot of symbolism with his character in SH2, and he definitely scared me.
