“No. Silly. I just like touching your fur.” The girl replies before reaching back up and scratching just under Tom’s cheek.

“Come on, I am trying to read here.” Tom does his best not to drop his book, but the scratching almost tickles.

“Sorry, I just love the way you smile when I do that.” The girl replies before laying her head onto his shoulder.

“I smiled? I didn’t realize that.” Tom replies, leaning his head on the girl’s. Most people say they can’t see my mouth around the white fur.

“I can, and it’s great.” The girl closes her eyes, “So what are you reading?”

“Oh, it’s an old book about…” The girl’s head falls into Tom’s lap, Tom knowing she is already asleep. She was always like that, leaning on him and falling asleep immediately. He was told it was because she trusts him so much. He wasn’t sure. Tom just moved his arms around her head like normal, getting comfortable and continuing with his book. He will tell her about it later on the walk back to town.
