Description Spatial Transformation Project: Final Presentation Process Map (2005)
Digital print on heavy weight coated bond paper.
36 x 48 inches (91.5 x 122 cm)

The spatial transformation project was the first work we were given at The University of Michigan's School of Architecture and Urban Planning. The idea was to introduce us to the ideas of making and conceptual ideation through physical modeling.

Week 1: The first assignment (Construct I) was to create voids which engaged space in an "architectural way" by cutting away at sheets of white matboard. We layered these sheets into a single block.

Week 2: Construct I became the jumping-off point for this, the second phase of the project. Construct II was to be a concrete mass that created a dialog with the spatial void of the first project. It was to remain within the same volumetric dimensions of the first project, 3 x 6 x 9 inches.

Week 3: We were to compile all the project documentation including conceptual sketches, models and process photography into a coherent presentation board.
