some random concept thing for a 40 sec animation i'm about to start making for school. not the kind of stuff i usually submit but i figure it's good to try and stay active here even though i'm busy with schoolwork :bdone in photoshop 7. textures from [link] . for useful tips on how to apply textures check [link]

Lois, you could submit images of stick figures on napkins and you would still manage to make them look intriguing. Anything that you put up is going to be related to you anyway, so it doesn't matter if it follows some noticable pattern or not.
These fish are really kind of adorable and sad. Like they know what's going to happen to them and it's just a matter of which one is going to take the bait.

Coool. I love the texture, and for some reason, my favourite bit is the shadows the fish throw.

it's for some tv show. they already have some spoken text that us students are supposed to animate around. the text is about how more people should eat fish, but that certain kinds of fish can't be combined with specific vegetables because they react and create a chemical that causes cancer. it's kind of silly, but a fun assignment. and it's going to air on tv which is fun fun.

I like it! I think it would be pretty valuable to USE the texture in your lighting some how... like, erase out small bits of it, to show the form at the top of the fishies. Or, allow the fishies to be smooth and everything else to be textured, leaving a small halo of smooth around them. Maybe the smooth can indicate their motion through the water? Like they leave smooth wakes? Just throwin' out some ideas. Take care!
