Hey, everyone needs to take a break...

keeps things going with a series of pictures for my Shadowrun character Spider. This picture actually leads to something that I do like in the rules.

Positive Qualities and Negative Qualities.

Several game systems have some kind of benefit and drawback system in them. For Shadowrun they are called Positive and Negative qualities, and you can see a couple of them on display here. Now this may come as a shock to you but the extra arms are considered a Positive Quality, since they do provide a benefit to the character, but the point cost isn't as much as you think due to the social stigma and the fact you do stand out even in a world of elves and dwarves and orks and trolls.

Now there is a Negative Quality here too that you can see. Notice how she's watching something while having lunch? She is a slight media junkie, meaning she needs to go online and look at social media, news sites, and things like that for about two hours per day.

I do like this kind of stuff, it helps flesh a character out and make it feel a lot more genuine to me. Little personality quirks that help set people apart.
