What was supposed to be a warm up picture for one my favorite prehistoric predators the terror bird, ended up being a full time project that took two months in the making, amazing how things turn out that way. Either way I have been wanting to work on this for quite some time, but never really got around to it.
- The Protocon is a support alien that fought along side other extraterrestrial units during the invasion of earth, and the attack on Area 98
- Essentially it is the predecessor to it's more deadly counterpart in the future, the Archon in XCOM 2, not as deadly as it's future successor, but still strong enough to burn a hole through you with it's rail beam arm
- The Protocon can not only fly around the battle field, but it can also generate energy shields to it's designated squad, giving the marines a tough time in battle
- The Protocon was also mentioned in a previous picture I made last year
