Great for a first try, but I would try making one of the colours quite a bit darker than the other, it would make it look more layered and give it some depth.

(I'm not the artist with the tutorial btw, just a passerby)

Used the regular ol paintbrush for most of it, for touchups I used the crayon. Hope that helps ^^
