I painted this a while back, it is of 2 tigers (I think a male and a female since 1 is bigger than the other). It was very difficult because they're both facing different ways, and their legs are splayed out in a difficult position to draw. I was quite happy in the way it turned out, because tigers are the hardest cats to draw! I think they are Sumatran, because they're my favourite tigers (they're so small and shy).

Here's some statistics for you...

Only 3-4% of the tiger's original habitat remains suitable for them.

Only 1 in 10 captive bred tigers survive their first year - the other 9 are put down.

Out of 30 tigers, only 1 will jump through a hoop at the circus. The others are killed.

I know tigers get a lot of attention. There are countless creatures that are endangered, and many are simply overlooked, such as cheetahs (man they ARE in trouble) and Hyacinth macaws. Whenever anyone says "endangered", it seems most people think of tigers first.

So why are they still endangered?

thanks! Yeah, I do have a scanner. But it is also a fax machine, photocopier and printer. So when I want to scan something, it has a whole identity crisis thing and then does a lousy job. So I end up taking pictures of most things.

Wow. That's being fav'ed. Damn I love tigers so I try to draw them? And they end up looking deranged, humpbacked and just plain weird. Damn them

Anyway, this is great hun. the colours are fantastic and the expressions are just perfect. They look so incredibly real. And the background is very nice and simple. Doesn't take anything away from the lovely pair. Beautiful Viks. Just beautiful.

You're too kind *hugs* lol they're hard aren't they? Especially their faces, the stripes are haaard. You have to get a photo and copy it exactly, then when you get a feel for it it's slightly easier...
