Despite the blood slowly oozing down his forehead Launchpad’s eyes were focused, gazing at her with a dizzying mix of fondness and relief that left Della frozen. One arm held her close, his strong hand resting on the small of her back serving as a silent reminder that this was all real.
“Sorry to tell you now…” He continued, the comforting smile never leaving his face, “It’s alright if you don’t feel the same way.”
Suddenly it was very hard to breathe and before Della could even think to fight them tears were flowing down her beak and splattering on his jacket. She felt his hand start to lift away from her back, Launchpad clearly taking her tears as a refusal, so she leaned in closer and buried her hands in his faux fur collar.
“You…idiot…” She sniffed pathetically, shaking her head, “Of course I love you.”
