"You shouldn't have done that" - Ben

Artist's note:

I have a bit of a love-slightly not love relationship with Ben's design. On one hand I think it's iconic and scary in some circumstances, but on the other hand I don't like that there's not much of a difference from Ben's design and the Link statue he's based on.

Imo it works, but I kind of just think it could be done differently and still have it's eerie feel and charm to it. Which is why I wanted this to be the one I did first, and idk if I did good on it or not. But here.

What I wanted to do was enhance what I found scary about the statue, the fact that it still looked vaguely like a person while having major (a) differences, like it's weird eyes and decaying smile. Almost like a puppet or one of those creepy looking dolls.

Which is why I made Ben more manikin-like and gave him joints and a wood texture. Implying that it could move : )

Other than that, the second thing I found scary about Ben is how mysterious, and lowkey kind of eldritch he was. Always either appearing behind the player in the darkness, or in areas slightly out of view. Which is why I hid most of his body in shadows.
