I often wonder what Leo would have done if heβd had a copy of Photoshop; other than curse the fact that the computer wouldnβt be invented for a few hundred yearsβ¦Nice work Loop (love the reversed signature; subtle!).

Im sure he would have been busy using the computer for other things... he did surprisingly little painting in his life and instead spent most of it studying the world around him and inventing things that nobody would use for another couple of hundred years
Thanks man, and glad someone noticed the reversed signature

Thanks! They are alright when they are small and manageable, but when they grow to the size of a bus, eat your furniture and burn down your neighbors house, they are less an exotic pet and more a health and safety hazard

This is a collectors item your signature at the bottom is backwards

Thanks man - real nice of you to say! As for the signature... Leonardo used to write stuff backwards on a lot of his sketches etc and it was a nod to that

See, this is the painting da Vinci should have originally done. It would have taken the renaissance world by storm. Great Job.

This is so freaking awesome on so many levels, Dave. Even sub-levels! Man I wish you had been my art history instructor back in college instead of my former instructors.

the characters had that caricatural smooth rendered style to them, when i saw your gallery it reminded me of it.
...
i went back and looked at pictures, your art is way moreΒ detailed and foto-like, actually your drawings look like 3d renderings.

how do you get your digital paint to blend so nicely together? Β looks like smooth transitions.
π: 0 β©: 1
Loopydave In reply to SteveMillersArt [2014-11-19 12:56:27 +0000 UTC]
Its painted quite large, so its hard to see the brush work at this scale.
I also set the brush opacity very low, usually 10%, and slowly build up my grades, which allows for a smoother finish.
Hope that helps!
Cheers
