Sorry, not taking commissions at the moment - have a huge backlog of work, and I dont want to fill any rare time to myself with work for others - I'd never get any of my own stuff done! Thanks for asking though, and always appreciate it when you come by!

haha - I see U got this Cowicature down ... hmm, but then u can do this with anything, i'm sure --- but wait, maybe if u drew a caricature of a caricature it would look normal. (how's that 4 logic?!)

Yeah, I know I'm loopy even without the wine

Loopydave In reply to theartyst [2009-09-16 01:09:27 +0000 UTC]

Punning is a genetic disorder in my family so I love 'cowicature'!
As for your logic, it makes a strange kind of sense, and I too am loopy sans wine all the time!

thanks 4 that Dave,

... a tangent of sorts, ... It was a comment near one of mine about Dan DeCarlo (an X Archie artist) ... I just gotta tell ya a cool story because U said "his line-work was the biggest influence on me as I grew up" a n y w a y s - I was a great friend of Dan's friend (back before we two were born - they worked on the comics in the Fifties/early sixties) a Mr Tom Moore that drew Archie too, so, I am very accustomed with his work and have a lot of those Jetta "Fifties Future" styled strips

... the stories, they keep abounding

It once asked me if it could saw me in half, but I had to politely decline - magic or not, when your tv starts talking to you, its time to be wary!

Funny thing its based it on my nokia phone, but labeled it 'hone' but you're right - it pretty much looks like a smallish iphone!

I loved the flow of the hair in her ears- and I feel that if I put my hand at her snout, it will return all wet. Again, great surface rendering, man... You never disapoint me.

Thanks man! This may sound weird, but I've been wanting to paint a cows snout for sometime. Mostly happy with this one, but plan to do another sometime soon. Okay, it DID sound weird!

eduardovieira In reply to Loopydave [2009-09-16 14:32:24 +0000 UTC]

Oh, no,no,no... don't worry about it! In fact, it's quite normal, it'a dream all artists share... they all want to paint a cow's snout. I hear it almost everyday, hehehe... Yeah, it DID sound weird, Dave, hahaha!!! But you did it sooooo well. Forgiven. '

And I look forward for your next cow's snout.

Thanks! Used to do a lot of art in front of the tv when I worked as a designer - I'd get home at the end of the work day, pull out a sketch pad and draw/sketch/paint in front of the tv to unwind. Its something I dont do enough of now that I work as a freelance illustrator.

LOL, I luv her You drew this while watching TV? I think I'm having my first stroke...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Loopydave In reply to GeorgeD [2009-09-15 09:57:37 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! and don't have a stroke - I pencilled it in front of the tv, and really wanted to paint it up - so went into the studio, scanned it in, brought the laptop back into the house and painted while watching tv.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GeorgeD In reply to Loopydave [2009-09-15 17:29:31 +0000 UTC]

You know, that still doesn't make me feel any better How long did it take you - sketch to finished painting? I'm a pretty fast sketcher myself - but it would take me more time than a TV program to end up with the 3dimensional, plastic and refined painted results that you presented!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Loopydave In reply to GeorgeD [2009-09-16 02:02:09 +0000 UTC]

Spent about 10 minutes on the pencil sketch and had pretty much painted the head and most of the body by the time the football match was over (yup was watching a game of Aussie Rules football). Didnt want to stop painting so I worked while I watched some episodes of 'sych' on DVD (love that show!). Did some final tweaks the following evening, but did most of it in one sitting. The fact that there was a lot of fur helped - find it quite quick and easy - if it had been a person holding the phone it would have taken me a fair bit longer. Strange, but true!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GeorgeD In reply to Loopydave [2009-09-16 12:16:50 +0000 UTC]

I completely understand why it'd take you longer with a person. Anyway, this is still an impressive job, I've only tried listening to music or singing while drawing
