Wow! Just... wow!
The scary part is that, as polished and accomplished as this is (even in its "unfinished" state), you've managed to get even better!
I wish the stuff I did when I was 16 looked this good. Hell, I wish the stuff I do now looked this good!

Thanks! Cant say all my stuff from back then turned out that good though, and I do hope I have improved a bit since then - be a bit worried if I hadn't!

Funny you should say that. Back in high school art class I would sometimes grab a magazine, and rather than participate in whatever was going on, just draw every nose I saw in it. Another class I would just draw eyes or some other feature. Had pages and pages of them. Turned out to be more useful than cutting out coloured paper or drawing flowers in the long run!

Nothing like watching a teacher's discomfort when they realise the student has more talent and inventiveness than they do.

Well, you definitely were really good even back then.
It's pencil, or charcoal? Just asking, because it does have a somewhat "water colory" look to it.

Pencil. Used to use a mixture of soft and hard leads and occasionally a bit of smudging, much to a later lecturers annoyance 'You'll never go anywhere with smudging'. Same lecturer who told me to stop doing cartoon stuff for the exact same reason. Just goes to show its worth ignoring your teachers sometime!
