Pencil sketch. Used to do a few charcoals in college, but really much prefer to sketch with pencils.

Frazetta had much shorter hair and preferred baseball to spear fishing if I remember correctly

Thanks! Its not based on a model, no, though I did refer to some photos to clarify some details, like the back of the arm etc. once I had created my initial sketch. I also looked in the mirror at my hands... which is much better than looking in the mirror at my face
