Description
Having done an insect mode of Barrage in the colour scheme of the original three Insecticons, I took that as the base and edited the box art (courtesy of Botch the Crab) to give a robot from in that colour scheme. This one I saved until the end as I found it to the be the most complicated it terms of options and wanted to have the other three under my belt first. I debated about solid black arms, solid purple, or keeping the purple upper arms with black or white or yellow forearms. I decided on yellow to save the hassle of the shading of the fingers in different colours, but I think it works well and goes with the yellow head which pretty much needed to be kept from the original. The yellow shoulders are seen in the insect mode so I keep them yellow and they kind of look like epaulettes to me and with the sword invokes a US Civil War style sort of fitting to his profile. In fact, I kept them and turned the surrounding purple as not to have too much yellow as it was always used sparingly with the Insecticon colour scheme. A toy with this scheme would have the chrome bits on the chest plate, the upper legs and the sword. As for the sword, I had to change it from yellow and black or purple might work for a toy but I think this gives a little more contrast. All in all, I think he looks great and matches his profile way better now.
