Description
You bite your lip in frustration as you stare down at your science homework. How were you going to answer this? The physics part of science had always been your weak point... and it also happened to be Sherlock's as well.Sherlock had come home from a case only 30 minutes prior, and he had laid down on the sofa to enter his mind palace. Clearly, he had something important to think about; however, he noticed his daughter looking completely puzzled at the desk by the window. Even though Sherlock was married to his work, he would always have time for his only little girl.
"Hey, what you up to?" Sherlock questioned, leaning over you to spy at your work.
"Science." You sighed, lifting the sheet over your head so he could get a better look. "In my opinion, it's absolutely impossible."
"But you're the Sherlock Holmes' daughter?" He joked, a small smile playing on his lips as his eyes scanned the words on the page. "Surely you shouldn't be defeated by science, one of his best subjects!"
"Dad," You giggled, "it's physics. You know, the sun, the moon and the earth? I've heard stories about you knowing nothing about the solar system."
"Don't tell me you read John's blog too?" He groaned, placing the paper back onto the table in front of you. "I know it, but I just don't care about it. Why does nobody understand that?"
"Well then, will you please help me daddy?" You begged, leaning your head back and giving him a cute grin.
"Fine," He huffed, "I think I might have needed a break from that case anyway. Plus, it's not as important as you."
"Thank you!" You beamed, kicking the chair next to you out from under the table with your foot. "We could be here for a while..."
"Why would we..." Sherlock paused as you pulled even more papers from your school bag, then let out a small moan of annoyance. "Fine, fine. Let's just hurry up and get this over with."
With a little help from Sherlock, you eventually completed all of your homework. Your face laid against the wooden table as you slept peacefully. The exhausting few hours of thinking and solving problems had worn you out. Sherlock had other things to do, however, so he scooped you up and took you to your room. He tucked you in and gave you tiny kiss on your forehead.
"Good night, kid." Sherlock half-smiled, "Sweet dreams."
