TL;DR: In the very near future robots and their masters have taken away our freedom. All for ourselves, and nothing for other people, seems, in every age of the world, to have been the vile maxim of the masters of mankind. - Adam Smith In our world, back in the Sixties, mankind went through a deep transformation, there has never been a bigger social movement, but it didn't come without a huge lash back, most of our market crashes today can be attributed to it basically. The Masters of Mankind back then had two choices, either increase social equality or decrease democracy, we don't have to say which one they picked, for corporations today are almost untouchable by taxes and regulations. Most important of all, this could happen again today, in the next few years with all the workers getting out of a job because of automation, these masters of mankind can choose to follow their Vile Maxim instead of choosing Basic Income and Public Health Care for all, it could mean that, and this is something recognized by Plato 2 thousand years ago, our democracy will be decreased again, by who controls the machines(The Masters) instead of it being used as a tool to bring social equality. This is what i'm trying to say with a huge mecha hand reaching out for the statue of liberty.
