Hi guys I'm back with a double feature! this is part 1 of a 2 part pic I commissioned to do. And like always, she does not disappoint. She is absolutely PHENOMENAL and deserves all the support she can get. ANYWAY, time for some creativity!

The conflict in Abyssia took longer than expected, what Tempest and Midnight thought would be a quick march in and getting things settled turned into a drawn out battle that lasted a few weeks. It took some time, but with the Solar and Lunar guards along with the Wonderbolts drawing the attention of Queen Catrina's forces along with the tactics Tempest had instilled into the Tempest Guard, she and Midnight eventually were able to march the guard right into her capital city and stop the threat before it grew any bigger. The battle was fierce and long as Catrina kept some of the more viscous of her forces and the rogue storm beasts around her palace. The battle was won, but not without some injuries. About a week after they had returned and were in the midst of recovering Tempest insisted they'd have the date they promised, refusing to let a few battle wounds keep her down; something Midnight found all the more appealing about the mare.

Both didn't care for anything all that fancy, being used to reasonable meals with the guard's routine both were perfectly fine with some hayburgers and shakes. They got around to the restaurant around evening after spending some of the day just walking about and taking it slow due to how much action they had seen, not that their injuries would allow anything too strenuous. They talked, discussing how their previous assignment went and exchanging playful jabs about their fighting in the last battle. As they talked though, Tempest smiled as she looked at Midnight.

"You know, you haven't really talked about your past. Where are you from?" Tempest asked.

"Sires Hollow." Midnight replied.

"Isn't that the town that's always dark?"

"Yup."

"Well I guess that explains your fascination with the night." Tempest said with a slight smile.

Midnight chuckled, "Kind of, I just naturally like night time, it's so peaceful and tranquil."

"Fair enough. I'm assuming you went to Celestia's school for gifted unicorns given your proficiency and abilities with magic."

Midnight swallowed a bite of his hayburger. "I did, but then I got too into studying dark magic and well, you can see where that led to."

"Yeah, a good fight and a powerful stallion to help defend Equestria." Tempest smiled.

Midnight blushed slightly. "Heh, I suppose so." he said as he rubbed the back of his head. "But you're every bit as strong."

"Flatterer."

"So, moonlit stroll after?" Midnight asked.

Tempest smirked. "Ordinarily I'd say no to something really romantic, but I think I can make an exception." she smiled.
