Description
hmmm.....This is very experimental, but I have been thinking more about moods and leaving viewers with a certain flavor than has more to do with subjective experience, rather than objective presentation of my ideas of imagery. What does the viewer feel from the piece, rather than imposing my ideas about it upon them? Do they recollect a childhood memory, or a time when things and ideas were vague, yet salient? Or are they left cold, and emotionsless? Is my undertaking even possible? The age-old debate on the inextricability of subjective experience vs. objective experience... I'll let you be the judge.
I think, the answer to the question posed in the piece on the right is no to the indivuals experience, but yes, it cannot transcend the experience of the collective unconscious....

There is a strange mood in this dyptich. I feel really attracted by the train and the moving text in french, and in the same time my eyes stop on the Cristofer, it seems to be an eternal moment...

i like this, the capture of two different 'movements'
it reminds me of an experimental movie of sorts, one of disjointed memories

well, i think 'tis a noble effort.
This is a great piece, objectively AND subjectively. I can appreciate a number of things for their composition, color, movement, etc (objective) but I might HATE it subjectively (don't like all the bloody/depressing/suicidal work here on DA).
btw... that text effect on the thought is fabulous! Would you care sharing how you pulled it off? I'm wanting to experiment with text manipulation but don't know where to start.
keep at it... you're turning out some excellent work!

interesting! time sweeping through, memories going by like a slides in a projector. A creation made by anunconscious vision that provokes memories of experience and the past. I love how on the left side is the swift motion, the speed of light so to speak, the right, the words visible, yet slightly blurry, as our thoughts sometimes can be, as memories are. Interesting, well thought out, and well executed.

I think some of the best art is that which can be explained or viewed differently by each person who sees it; there are so many different possibilities that way. And it's fun to read how.
This piece to me is surreal. It makes me think of stereotypical movie/tv dreams. The kinds with bright colors, flashing scenes, time speeding up, words flashing before your eyes... and everything seen has something to do with the main plot of things.
You did an amazing job with this.

this looks so "hot" professional to me - so magazine ad - so as you say - an image with a purpose to delve into one's mind and make them react in personal ways. i love it myself

ah, work into the collective unconcious of Jung. So many say that it does not exist, but I cannot agree with that. I see that it is there, and see that it is important. It is where theists are ignorant and most atheits miss It. All in that collective. But, most experience is subjective.
I like this piece though it brings nothing to me since I have never seen a subway system like such except in photographs and cinema. The blur effects make me think of a drunk riding the lines late into the night though. The color is one of my favorite shades of green. But, I look and see much of the remants of Scream (which was stolen recently), to stand here amongst these lines, to be the isolated modern man screaming as everything quickly goes on by. The organic feeling of the green is there, but it's also very unfriendly.

I don't think any project can transcend memory and experience because all projects are part of memory and experience.
It is the collective viewing of these projects that act like pieces fit in a puzzle.
I see the world flashing before my eyes, yet I feel stationary.
This work pulls the plug out of the stereo; it is like one element is lost from experience - as the viewer sees a stationary station, yet things move in their field of vision.
This is what I used to feel like when going to the private school I attended for primary school.
Things were going on around me, that shaped me and what I was experiencing, without me participating directly in them.
This is what it feels like to be lost - however, If you grasp the experience.... you are not.
The colours are cold, green.....
I like this work very much.

Nice work.

"Experience is the name everyone gives to thier mistakes." Oscar Wilde, and i tend to believe him. For me a capture can only be taken two ways, one throught the eyes of the creator who has the solid image to coincide with thier own either experience or desire, and secondly through the eyes of the viewer, and for me every single viewer see's a different picture. art is there for everyone to take for themselves, taking the initial artists views and either accepting them and understanding them or relating the picture to themselves with thier own idea's ... a little like starcharts in my book, people bend them to fit their lives...which in my pesonnal opinion is the way to go. Anyway i think this is a great piece tackling which unfortunetly is probably an unaswerable dilemma, but one that is fun nonetheless. Lovely work..lovely work indeed.

like the harsh motion and fancy lights on the left, memories and experience is too linear, I really enjoyed the image you presented, excellent concept.

A photo/project can transcend memory and experience when it deals with emotion. A child can experience happiness and sadness without the benefit of life experience that as adults we have. Yet if we were shown a picture of a playful puppy ( within reasonable bounds ) both adult and child alike would feel the same emotion of joy. How do we take emotive photos? Well that is a bloody hard question

i remember when i was little, i think i was four or five, my Grammy was taking me shopping with her and we were on the subway platform. As the subway arrived, there was a big commotion to get on the train, i got on, but my Grammy didn't make it. The doors closed right in between us. She and i both pounded on the doors, stricken and panicked by our separation. She banged with so much force that even though the train had started to move, the conductor stopped, and opened the doors. She was in before they were even completely open, she hugged me tightly to her as i cried and she promised never to leave me alone, ever.
and so this made me remember, and cry,
though we've been separated after living together for 19 years, i will be moving closer to her soon, and we will both have new lives and can be happy.
and though we are not physically living together, She has kept her promise, and is always with me.
you are so lovely
thank you...
(thank you so much)

The colors remind me of speed and speed is also visible in the left part with the speeding subway train. And maybe because of the relative speed of any project it can never transcend memory and experience, because those are timeless.
