It made me think of a book i read a long time ago. The Phantom Toll Booth. I like time related pieces, i have a photo up that i may redo for a better quality print but its essentially a journal bound by a pocket watch sitting on top the sand.

I love the way this image transposes to different forms to me, on is the warping of time, the other is the idea that time is infinite; same as this swirl does, going into eternity. Same also goes the greyscale just adds a nice natural flare to me, and being done in Gimp this is great work I would have thought Photoshop was only well suited for, and I do quite think Escher is a real master of art illusion, impossibilities, well done.

Why does this remind me of HetaOni?

It's a fan made spin off of Hetalia and Aooni. I think why your picture reminded me of it, is because the character Italy in the series kept on going back in time, restarting the adventure as things were continuously going wrong in the other timelines. Also, when the characters broke clocks they got their memories from past timelines back.
