Not bad, but the overall design requires far more work imo, especially when it comes to lighting and shade. You need to add much stronger inner shadows to give the orb some depth, as it looks quite flat. And the main shape needs to be better layered individually so it takes on a more realistic look.
Overall not bad.

great tutorial. would love to be able to do the 'rings' or w/e they are arround your orbs but this is still just as helful to me

Meh, didn't really teach me what I wanted to know, namely those things around the orb. But this is nice too, will definately remember this
