I really want to write to story behind this.
This is it. This is the place where her boyfriend was brutally murdered, a year ago. He was murdered simply for the green paper and the piece of plastic in his back pocket. He knew this place was dangerous, but he came through here, anyway, as a shortcut to reach her apartment. When the police found him, after they searched his blood-soaked, brutally-slashed body, they found and engagement ring in his inner coat pocket.
Today would have been his birthday. Instead of going his grave, she visits the place he was murdered, in defiance of the thieves and gang-bangers that hang around, nearby. To the scene, she brings the same types of flowers that he brought to her for their first date. She wears the same outfit she wore for their first date. She grabs a third of the bouquet and lays it on the spot where he was found, setting a rock on top of the stems to keep them from blowing away in the wind. A wear lands on the rock. She walks away with the rest of the bouquet to take to his grave, a tear running down her cheek.Β
