ink, watercolor, permenant marker, oil pastels. 11 x 14 in.Inspired by Aaron Siskind's photography, this was just a quick study of colors and contrast.

I'm very into the pattern quality of this piece, how it doesn't represent a subject in the traditional way but is still very expressive, and somewhat repititious. The colors are also very neat and work well with your media; I always love oil + watercolor or ink, it's so 'raw.' I don't know what IB refers to, but if you're planning on workng with this theme some more, I'm totally excited to see it!

I wonder if this style would benefit from multiple physical layers.
you've got all that overlapping there... and a lot of self contradicton;
you could add to both of those by denying the picture plane somewhat.
