Description This is an old piece, done during the summer of 2002. I was born in Libya, Africa...we moved a few months after, as soon as the terrorism started. This piece is based off of what people have told me about Libya, and some pictures my parents took during our time living there.

Somebody help me explain this out. Either it's unworthy of being art, or I'm a Phillistine.
But whatever it is, there doesn't seem to be any language (not even Arabic) that can describe it or at least explicate its meaning.
Or am I to assume art is in itself a language?

Mmm... raw, emotional.

I was talking to ~amebaone about poetry and how one can learn to make it clever and good. But if they don't have the raw ability to expunge their emotion without thinking about it, no amount of cleverness can make them a good poet. Their poetry will be bland compared to the man who can describe his emotions so clearly that another can feel them without understanding just how clever and good the poem is. Ya dig?

Poetry is art, art is poetry. Hence my love for abstract art. Hence my love for this piece.

Fantastic. I don't have to know your emotions to feel them.

Bingo,

there is a very cold elling in this pic. yet a haunting longing of understanding and want. The emotion of loss and disillusion seem to come to mind. The depth of the "levels" of hills , town, street and people are conveyed for those who want to see deeper. i love this .......

Did you see the "Who Wants to be the Governor of California" gameshow? They had three candidates put stickers on a blank canvas shaped like California in a way that represented their vision of the state.

This is, of course, much more interesting. I really love the whole messy but organized look of this. Those windows at the bottom really look fantastic, and the three marks to the left and that stain really grabbed me too. Really beautiful work.
