Description

A fictional future aircraft built for transonic / supersonic air races. The races are part of an international competition among various commercial and defense aircraft manufacturers. Each plane uses a liquid hydrogen (LH2) turbojet engine for propulsion. LH2 fuel is used to promote zero emission air travel, while still having supersonic capability. Even with the advances in turbojet engines, it can only race for about two hours before running out of fuel due to limited internal LH2 storage. Races typically last just under an hour with extra time allotted for takeoff, landing, and a formation lap. For most of the race it will supercruise around Mach 1.1 but it can reach a max speed of Mach 2+ with the use of afterburners.
