This painting almost didn't happen. I originally wanted to go paint this run down house that looked like it hadn't been lived in since the 50's. The House proved to be a formidable subject and instead I wandered around looking for a subject to paint. With daylight running out, I settled on painting this mound of rubble. I tried to church it up as much as possible, verging more on an abstract than a landscape. Honestly, this looks like an architecture, stilllife, landscape, abstract combined. I guess that's what drew me to it. This little spot was halfway between Washington VA and Stafford VA. Not to be confused with Washington DC, the capital. 10.25"x11.75" Oil on Panel
