Painted for my grandma to remind her that she is a phenomenal woman. Also to thank her for the beautiful example she has set for me of a strong, independent woman who has risen from the ashes to become the Matriarch of a family of who she can be proud.

She has been known to don a red hat and wear purple as a women in The Red Hat Society often do to symbolize their involvement with a movement of women who are determined to celebrate life at any and all ages. I could truly write a book on all of the ways I have seen her celebrate and enjoy life. She has taught me to do the same, to never give up on myself or the possibility of what lies ahead, to be strong and determined, fight for what I believe in, to be kind, giving, and care for others no matter who or what their situation. Most importantly, she has taught me about the warmth of two arms holding me tight any and every time she laid eyes on me and the light of unconditional love that surrounds me anytime I connect with her whether in person, via the phone, or even by simply thinking of her and connecting energetically. She reminds me any chance she gets that she will love me forever, until the end of time.
