Angels are a type of creature that exists within the FTL Microcosm. When ships enter faster than light travel, they are shrunk to a microscopic level, propelled thousands of times faster than the speed of light. By doing this, they make passage through a micro universe that is fundamentally radically different to ours, called the FTL Microcosm. Little to nothing is known about this universe, as you can only remain in it as long as you are at very high velocities. However, one terrifying thing thatt can happen to you is meeting the creatures named Angels. Angels are unexplainable entities that can pass through walls like ghosts, and make ships decrease in temperature radically when they approach them. The Angels are believed to not be able to enter our universe, since sailors that have survived their invasions claim that they disappear when the ships come out of FTL. The Angels are very mysterious beings, with no clarity towards their intentions or needs. When they touch sentient beings, they turn untangible as long as they are in physical contact with the Angels. Some of the beings that suffer this fate may end up flying off into the Microcosm, or even getting fused with parts of the ship when the Angels stop touching them. There have been next to no Angel invasions recorded, but some ships come out of FTL completely empty. It is believed that the chances of a ship being invaded by Angels is less than 0.00001%, and some scientists even question their very existence, claiming that beings fused to ships might be an extremely rare side effect of the FTL shrinkening process. Their existence is not confirmed by any galactic government, but the WideWeb is extremely interested in them, having discussion boards totally dedicated to alleged Angel Occurances.
