Description
After being released into the roundyard Shady was left to work out his surroundings first, as not to rush his brain in such a short amount of time. Shady the black brumby stud paced the roundyard walls, testing the structure for any weak spots to try and force his way out of, yet he couldn't find any, he was getting worked up but he was slowly realizing that he couldn't force his way out of this area. After some time Shady had settled slightly, now just walking and sniffing his surroundings, trying to look over the tall railings of the yard to look at the other horses who he kept calling out to, only occasionally getting a reply. Now, however, he was a lot more calmer, Kyra and a few other staff members were watching the Carrai from outside the roundyard, far enough away they weren't overly spooking him but close enough to let him know they were there. Once noticing Shady was calmed down, Kyra entered the roundyard, holding a lungewhip, keeping it handy in case the Carrai stud wanted the get aggressive and ignore boundries. Shady was snorting and began to move rapidly, unsure of the human that has now entered his now safe space. Every little movemt Kyra made Shady would spin and hunch up as close to the wall as he could, taking off around the yard a few times, yet no matter where he went, the human was still there. Occassionally when Kyra would notice that Shady had stopped and was checking her out, she'd put a little pressure on him by taking a step, this would set him off all over again and he'd be trying to get away as best as he could, going flat out around the roundyard, sometimes kind of running up the rubber walls, causing him to trip, but he'd continue to try and get away. Shady ended exhausted as Kyra was repeating steps and trying new steps, yet he remained stubborn, he hadn't even tried to sniff her yet, the midday Spring sun was starting to take affect, it was getting super hot, with only a small breeze to cool down. While Kyra was starting to think that today was a lost cause and she'd have to start new tomorrow, Shady turned towards her after pacing the round yard at a walk, aiming his head out of the roundyard avoiding any eye contact with the human, he slowed himself to a halt and putting his head to the ground, smelling his surroundings again, watching the human and the movements she would make. Now the Carrai stallion was just sniffing around the roundyard, nose to the dirt, taking a few steps and stopping, few more steps, stop again. He continued this behaviour for a while, keeping his eye on Kyra the entire time but she just stood there, lungewhip in hand that she hasn't had to use. Shady raised his head up, staring at Kyra before extending his head forward, flaring his nostrils as he took in Kyra's smells. After patiently standing still, Shady eventually approached Kyra, dabbing his nose ever so slightly on her arm, causing him to jump a bit at the texture of her skin, Kyra took what she could get and walked backwards, rewarding his calmness and curiosity by taking away all of her pressure on him. This seemed to be working and after a few hours of this successful first touching, Kyra left the Carrai Brumby to relax back into his surroundings, offering a bucket of water and a few biscuits of hay to him in the round yard.
