I've been working on a certain project which I can't discuss with anybody (yet).I wanted to go back in time a little bit, so I chose white background and intricate pattern

Reminds me of ice cream for some reason (has a lovely feel to it).
I must admit I like to us dark backgrounds in my work.
Though the level of detail that appears with a white background works very well.

Hmm, after due consideration and viewing closely both pieces, I declare that you are wrong!
And I like the white background better
The dark background is well put together, but feel it lacks something in the upper right corner.
Interestingly, if I'd have seen it first, before the white background, I would have said it was a measured piece of art, that works very well.
Comparing it to the white background - well, white wins!

I would, always loved the level of how intricate white backgrounds achieved, I used to use them a lot because I wanted fractals that were almost more like drawings.

It's been rare for me to do that style lately. I have done a couple though. I save my images transparent and it will usually lend its self to one or the other.
