Another page of this comic adapting a Batman musical planned by the late Jim Steinman that never got off the ground.
The first song Angels Arise ends as we transition to Wayne Manor, where Bruce Wayne begins to suit up as Batman and go on patrol to beat up more criminals in his ongoing mission to avenge his deceased parents Thomas and Martha Wayne by doing everything in his power to see to it that no one else in Gotham City has to suffer what he has.
Bruce's butler Alfred Pennyworth expresses his concern that Bruce Wayne being a vigilante can't be good for his health, but Bruce replies that he can't hang up the cowl until he's sure there's no chance of anyone suffering the same loss he had experienced as a child and that the state of Gotham City means there are only so many problems he can solve just by being the charitable billionaire.
As the Dark Knight begins his nightly crusade against Gotham's criminal underworld, the Caped Crusader sings the next song Graveyard Shift, which is one of my two favorite songs in this unproduced musical, as it addresses Batman's burden of having to combat the criminals of Gotham City and how he's still haunted from seeing his parents get killed in front of him that fateful night in Crime Alley.
