Basically, I like everything here like the roses blend with the background, splashes across the canvas and flowers on her hair. But there are few things I tend to fuss about, hope you don't mind.
First thing was her arms, they looked like if they were fused together although I can see that you're trying to pose her right arm cross over to her left shoulder. Secondly, some of the shades are a bit too bold and solid as this whole picture is softly rendered. Unless the light source comes from her left. Thirdly, regarding with the lace thingy in the rear, is it really appealing if you cast a glow light onto it? If I can make a suggestion, why not try just leave it plain, solid white or make a watermark out of it? Lastly, you said something about saving the rainforest. Well, this piece overall gave me a romantic, senorita feel and I can't feel a sense of rainforest jungle feel. Which rainforest you're trying to save? Aruba, Jamaica, Bermuda, Bahamas?
I believe the theme would be focusing on the Amazon, as the world's largest rainforest is currently threatened by poachings, loggings and large scale farmings. So maybe you can find something useful and inspiring from there and hopefully it can help you in your future works. And till then, cheerio

My character is holding a bouquet of some of my favourite flowers from my native Hawai'i, just to clarify what she explained. It's not really supposed to look tropical-ish, because here you can wear something romantic and still be decorated with those flowers. I believe that Luciole did a fantastic job in helping me convey the elegant romanticism of Hawai'i with the exotic heritage that ties us to the land.
The rainforest link was indeed at my request, because I'm fairly active in raising awareness for disease and conservation. Yes I probably used the flowers as an excuse to tie it in, but overall it's not supposed to be about that. I don't treat myself to many personal works so to compensate for my selfishness in a self-involved commission, I asked that she do that. Did I guilt myself and find a cop-out? Probably, but I think everyone deserves something nice once in a blue moon, even if you have to give it to yourself.
Anyway, hope this helped clear a few things up <3.

Well, I was sort of confused the connection between girly fantasy and nature conservation...
Now that you mention it, I always dream of want to go to Hawaii and in my impression that Hawaii would be earthy as there's a famous active volcano over there, which is revered as a god.
As for the rainforest link, everyone will have tropical plants, trees, wildlives in their minds, put it together a Amazon(the world's largest rainforest at threats) Therefore, a faerie just ain't enough... (I don't mean to spoil your little girly fantasy)

Girly ... Faerie ... It's not a faerie. It's a simple portrait of someone holding flowers. The link is a simple addition, did you understand anything I wrote? The image was NOT for Rainforest Awareness, it was for ME. I asked her to add in the link because of the flowers and because I am an activist in these areas as I stated. No offense buddy but you need to learn how to read, comprehend, and understand. To be honest, you had no right to bag Luc on the concept, it was a commission.
I'm sorry if I'm offending her or anyone else, but you offended me by bashing my concept. Me, mine, not yours. Therefor, the context looks great to me and I know Luc did a fantastic job in illustrating my thoughts. Whether or not you think she did a bad job or the image isn't "up to par", really isn't up to you. Fine, go off on anatomy and colour, artists have a right to offer on something like that, but the theme and context? Hands off buddy, it's all me, and seriously where do you get off criticizing someone's commission idea. Since when are you entitled to get into people's heads and criticize how they think?
No matter what you say, I think Luc did a fantastic piece in conveying how I felt and what I was feeling in the piece. She did it without even needing to prod me every few minutes, and I call that amazing artist's intuition. No matter what I commission her for it's like she already knows what I'm looking for. So when you want to offer real help go for it, but when you're going to bash on the concept? I've got news for you, it's whether or not the commissioner is happy not you, and she is one of the only artists I've ever commissioned that not only makes me happy but freaking ecstatic.
Luciole, I'm sorry if this offended you, and it probably did because I was way out of line. I do try to hold my tongue in most situations but this just fried me, and I understand if you never want to take a commission from me ever again. I just failed in controlling myself.

I think you're a little overeacted here, cool it... I didn't use offending words like 'You sucks' and 'Dumb idea' in my comments and now you're accusing me of bashing your idea and Luciole's work. So does that mean I don't have the right to speak my mind since this whole concept was your idea? That's fine with me and you can do whatever you want.
I admire most of Luciole's works as you do and she always took my breath away. It just that sometimes whenever I see a flaw or two, I would just point it out to her and perhaps offer some ideas to help her out and she appreciates it. So far, we're getting along pretty well as budding artists. As for you, I guess it takes a longer time to get you better...

Oh you shut up. You know damn well you crossed a line when you started in on the basic concept of the piece. I've had enough of you trying to sidestep what you actually said. I kept telling you, and she kept telling you, that the piece was not about the Amazon or any other jungle. So you go off and tell me that it's a girly faerie fantasy that's not going to cut it for awareness? I pretty much figured that out when I commissioned it. The concept isn't a flaw, it's the idea that was the conception of the piece. Don't hack on my talent as an artist either because I wasn't even going there, I'm not an artist I'm just someone who appreciates it, and you stepped over a line. You can respond if you want but as far as I'm concerned this situation is over. Peace man.

I don't even wanna talk about light sources on this one XD It's totally screwed. I think you may have noticed that my lighting and anatomy is not very strong.. >< its something to work on.
I thought of just making the lace solid white and had a saperate pic of it for comparison, but since the pic is so soft and romantic, a glow would make it look sorta like a halo and more romantic. That's what I thought anyway.
The rainforest link was sorta last minute and random, and at request by =Uennie . It ties in with the tropical flowers she is holding XD. But yes.. it doesn't look tropicalish. The tropical theme didn't come in till later >>; this was a confusing pic.
