Description
There is a scene in Akira Kurosawa's movie Dreams that has stuck in my head since the first time I watched it. It is the first chapter where a little boy was stealing glances at a fox wedding procession, which is forbidden to humans and only takes place in a sun shower. It is a strange scene but I find it oddly inspiring and lovely.Made as a tutorial painting for Digital Artist Issue #22: [link]

Really really curious... because yesterday i was reading xxxholic which explained the Fox bride. The rain and the sun togheter... today i was walking around my city , and there was a really havy rain with a really shiny sun...and I immediately thought about the Fox Bride.... and now

this is quite the change in palette and tone (the nice bright cheery colors.... she's not eating something for once! ^^; )

Stunning, as always. Her kimono is so colorfully detailed and amazing that it makes me want to cry. It must have taken ages to color, but the result is just right. I also love the rays of sunlight and the flower petals (they seem darker than cherry blossoms) everywhere, and those "cords" of light swirling from one side of piece to the other really ties the whole thing together in how they mimic the pattern in her kimono. (I can't get over that kimono! You do such an amazing job with patterned clothing!)
