The bikini she wore back then was pretty tame by today's swimwear standards but you have to start somewhere. Just look at when the string bikini made its debut in the 70s. I can understand why some conservative-minded women would object to wearing a thong on a public beach but fashion of any kind really is a personal choice. And don't get me started on decency laws that make no sense.
