An art piece I got done for an art exchange with Alex-kellar

It was my first time doing something like this and I have to say, it went very well! Just an awesome art piece for a crossover idea I had some time ago. I don't think I'll write up a full story for it, but I did write out a scene correlating with the art. I hope you enjoy!

This… This can’t be happening…

Cinder felt blood trailing down her cheek, the newly made Fall Maiden in a state of exhaustion and disbelief. Just before she could finish off Pyrrha Nikos, someone appeared before them, halting the exchange and taking over.

“Give up. End this now, before you get hurt.”

Cinder grit her teeth and sent a seething glare up at her opponent. Some unknown, blank faced boy with a bowl cut. Someone who, by comparison, barely had a scratch on them after their altercation. While Cinder was covered in scrapes and bruises, having only been saved from some more intense damage.

It… It wasn’t supposed to be this way! Cinder thought furiously, fire flaring from her eyes as she forced herself to her feet. I’m supposed to be unstoppable now! So how… how is he so damn powerful?!

“Go to hell!” Cinder bit out, flames swirling around her before she unleashed a beam of pure energy his way. She watched as the boy merely raised his hand, that same prismatic aura surrounding him. And in a flash, he stopped her attack from reaching him, flexing his arm forward and sending great force back at the Fall Maiden. Cinder staggered back, digging her heel into the ground to keep from being pushed too far back.

With bated breath, Cinder let out an aggravated scream, her body trembling with rage. “Just who are you?! How do you have so much power?! Are you one of Ozpin’s secret weapons or experiments?!”

The boy raised a brow in response, his expression frustratingly unchanged. “I’m just a normal student going to one of the pre-training academies nearby. My friend goes to Beacon, so I came to help.”

“Don’t give me such horse shit!” Cinder snapped, causing the boy to widen her eyes. “With all that power… you could decimate this city! You could be making these ants bow to you! Yet you want me to believe you’re some normal student?! Don’t take me for such a fool!”

The boy stared at her in wonder, his eyes conveying a newfound surprise that Cinder yet saw in him. But then it morphed, his expression changing to something more along the lines of anger and annoyance, the seemingly plain boy narrowing his eyes.

“Power doesn’t make you better.”

Cinder blinked, raising a brow in disbelief. “What?”

“Power doesn’t make you better than anyone else.” He said, taking a step forward. “There are plenty of things that I can’t do with my power. Having it doesn’t make me special or better than anyone else. I still need others to do things that I can’t, like make clothes or food, because they’re skilled in areas I’m not. The same goes for you.”

Cinder stared at him for a long moment before breaking out in maniacal laughter, completely dumbfounded by his words. “What an utter child! ‘Power doesn’t make you better’? What a waste of potential!” She continued to laugh before leveling a malicious smile at Mob, her eyes flashing with fire. “So what if you can’t do something? The point of power is to make others do it for you. That’s the way the world works, boy. You’re just a kid that doesn’t understand the order of things.”

The frustration in Mob’s demeanor doubled, his eyes hardening as the prismatic aura surrounded him again. He began to hover into the air, his hair flaring up with his power.

“No. You’re the child. A child who bullies others because you can,” Mob said, his voice low and menacing. “I don’t want to hurt you… but when it comes to people with such distorted minds, sometimes being hard is the only way they learn.”

Cinder snarled at his words, forming a ball of flame in her hand. “You think you can make me kneel? Listen to your pretty, naive words? You’ll have to find some other fool. It’s my destiny to rule over weaklings!”

“I’ll make you see the error of your ways. One way, or another.”
