i think this is referring to Loki, the mischievous Norse god who helps end the world, seen here in his punishment for killing Baldur where he is chained to three boulders by the entrails of one of his children while a snake drips venom on his face. he didn't have many friends, but would do things with Thor every now and then

yes, his wife did hold a bowl above his head to catch the venom, but every now and then would have to empty it which would let the venom drop on his face, causing him to writhe in pain which in turn caused earthquakes. the drawing is very nice and i like it.
the inclusion of the river from the Fenrir wold would be inaccurate as Fenrir was bound by the ribbon (whose name escapes me at the moment) in another location.
i wouldn't change a thing about it, you could always say that his wife was out emptying the bowl

the two i remember are sigyn and the witch angerboda (who mothered hela, frenrir and jormungand) but there may be others. The Norse Myths by Kevin Crossley Holland is a useful book on the various tales. The Deepest Sea (no longer in print, check e-bay) is another good book about vikings, but although heavily influenced by the myths and history, is completely unrelated.

Um, actually Loki had just the two wives. *is immersed in a mythology-based art project, and thus has mythology dripping out of her ears*
Bizarrely enough, Loki's also the proud MOTHER of a bouncing baby eight-legged horse named Sleipnir (Odin's horse). He was in the guise of a mare at the time, and there was this stallion named SvaΓ°ilfari... yeah. >>;
He's also mentioned as being the father of Vali (I think?), but Vali isn't mentioned as being the child of either AngrboΓ°a or Sigyn, so that's kinda confusing too. You're welcome for telling you stuff you probably looked up already.
