Zonic is apart of the Zone Police in the US Sonic Comics. Zonic's name is a combination of Zone and Sonic.
See in each dimension called "Zones" order has to be maintained if the Zones start interfering with each other or criminals from another Zone start interfering with another zone. the Zone police keep that order maintained by keeping the zone-crossing criminals in their No-Zone which essentially is a prison.
