Description
Umehara Military Enterprises' Type 6 missile launcher is a multi-purpose reusable 100mm missile launcher suitable for use against tanks, aircraft, structures and personnel.
The weapon system consists of three components: The main tube, the Command Launch Unit mounted on the left side, and a missile cartridge loaded from the rear. The main tube and CLU together mass 5.8kg, and cartridge weight depends on the type of munition in use.
Fire modes are selectable between unguided, guided direct-fire, guided top-attack, and standoff mode in which the missile launch is coordinated to take targeting information from an ally after firing.
In order to protect the user from backblast, and to enable firing from enclosure, the Type 6 utilizes a soft-launch system whereby the missile is boosted out of the launcher by a brief burst of the rocket motor, before igniting the main motor at a safe distance.

- High-Explosive Dual-Purpose (HEDP)
- High-Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT)
- High-Explosive Squash-Head (HESH)
- Tandem Warhead
- Thermobaric
- Air Burst
- Anti-Aircraft
- Multi-Warhead Anti-Aircraft (similar to a scaled down Starstreak missile, the MWAA munition boosts three tungsten darts on a guided trajectory against aircraft, which explode after piercing the vehicle's skin. Designed to improve hit-probability and overcome Active Protection and laser countermeasures)
- Canister Shell (programmable air-bursting munition which fires 800 tungsten pellets in a 60 degree cone, essentially an upsized guided flying claymore mine, useful in both direct-fire and top-attack modes)
