The 11mm Universal case allows you to use basically any round you can squeeze inside. The standard load for most "rifles" is a 7mm fin-stabilized discarding-sabot round with power similar to a .260 Remington (Rifles put in quotation because the weapon is actually smoothbore). However, bullets and powder can be varied from a cluster of 4mm flechettes to a 7.62 NATO to an 11mm JHP slug and anything in between. All that is required to switch from one type to the next is to change magazines.

The M2 is also available for dedicated cartridges instead of 11x70, and can be easily converted with a barrel and chamber change.
