This is the first picture I belive I finished back in January and is part of my 'Slayers of the Night' series where I take Video Game heroes that fight the Creatures of Darkness. Throughout history there have been many tales of Vampires and the Hunters that fight them. Van Helsing, Buffy Summers, Von Goosewing, Blade the Daywalker ect..but one that is well known for fighting Vampires in videogames is The Belmont Clan from the Castlevania Games. A long line of Vampire Hunters that defend the realms of Transylvania from the Dark Lord Count Dracula and his minions. Whenever the fortress of Castlevania rises. A Belmont must take up the family whip dubbed 'The Vampire Killer' and traverse the Castle's many floors and guardians before confronting the Vampire Lord himself. The most well-known is Simon Belmont. He was the protagonist of the very first Castlevania game on the NES back in 1986 and it's sequel 'Simon's Quest' in 1987. He also appered in 'Super Castlevania 4' on the SNES in 1991 and 'Castlevania Chronicles' on the PS1 in 2001 (originally on the Sharp X68000 PC). He also had a few weird apperances in the 'Captain N Cartoon' as a buffoonish adventurer who cares only about himself and sees himself as a Ladies man, and 'Castlevania Judgement' for the Wii in 2008 where he looked like a cosplaying Light Yagami from the Death Note Manga. He also had a rebooted apperance as a Mountain Man in 'Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate' for the 3DS in 2013.

Since Konami went tits up in 2015 it seemed the Castlevania Franchise is doomed...until his return to Super Smash Bros Ultimate for The Switch in 2018 as a playable fighter. I always wanted him in Smash Bros since Brawl and this is what this version of Simon is based on. He also appears in the mobile game Grimoire of Fate as well. Theres also the anniversary collection if you want to check it out which has CV 1, 2 and 4 included.

So I hope you like this pic and as Castlevania is slowly making a return thanks to the Animated Netflix series here's hoping he might make a cameo in a future season.
