NOTE: Most of my paintings explore the concepts of facades, masks, and deception. What I'm particularly fond of with this painting is the tragedy of being unable to escape youself. That despite your efforts, you are who you are.

I suppose my only real question is: is it really a tragedy to be who you are, despite your best attempts to the contrary?
Some people spend their lives trying to construct personas far less interesting than their actual personalities. Just seems like it'd be nice to have a central personality that it'd be impossible to avoid... Maybe it's late and my perspective is too narrow though.
