I sigh softly. I was really worried there for a second that something would happen if I had intruded unwanted. Something... Lethal.

She walked into a grand room filled with books, a piano, a harp, and a big armchair. "This is the living room."

"Wow..." I say. Everything here was strange to me, and looks so different. Nothing like I ever saw.

"We've got everything you can ever want here," she smiled. "All the food you can eat, all the books to read, all the plants to water, everything."

I knew about food, and I knew about plants. I knew that a living being need food and water to survive. But knew nothing about books and reading. "What're books? What's reading?" I asked.

She gasped and recoiled in shock, nearly dropping you. "You've never read a book? How do you know even how to speak then?"

"I listened to other people talking." I say, hugging her hands so the next time I surprise her, she doesn't nearly drop me.

"Oh, I see," she said, "then I suppose I will teach you how to read. I've never met someone who didn't know how to read. Who raised you even?"

"Um.... I sort of raised myself. I don't have anyone who raised me..." I say meekly. I didn't like to talk about it.

"Oh, I see," she said, and then tried to change the subject very quickly. "All right, I suppose I'll teach you how to read. All civilized people should know how to read and write."

"Write?" I asked. yet another word I had yet to learn and recognize. "Well, I guess I'd like to learn how." I say, looking curiously.

She took a giant book and showed you some words. "I'll tell you how to say them and you follow along, okay?"

"Okay." I say, looking at it curiously. I'd never seen anything like it before.

She spent the next several hours teaching you all about what a book was and how to read it.

"Wow. So these are all stories?" I asked, looking around at the massive collection of books. "Are they all real?" I asked.

"Some are," she nodded, "but some are fantasy. It all depends on who's writing it and what they're writing about."

Me: Hey, girl. Why are you crying?

The girl stops crying and looks at you and gasps. "Who are you? How did you get here?"
