Description Finally... friggin'... finished...
For starters, this art took a LOT of me, a ton of time, a ton of work, a ton of stress, and a huge damn artblock for some time. So I would especially ask of you guys, to spare those few minutes and tell me what you think about it instead of the usual "fav & run", please.

As you might have guessed, this is my tribute picture for MegaMan's 30th anniverssary. Being a huge MegaMan fans for over 20 years now, I really wanted to make something special for the Blue Bomber this year (and luckily I just barely made it before the end XD)
The idea was simple enough, draw my favourite Robot Masters from each of the 12 classic series games (MM 1-10, plus MegaMan V and MegaMan & Bass), whom I wanted to draw as a group shot in some dynamic poses, mostly because I got inspired by 's work (seriously, if you're a MegaMan fan, go see his gallery NOW!) ...and boy was that a miscalculation...
You see, the thing that makes group shots work is proper composition and the characters need to be properly showcased... and I suck at both...
I tried several times with different kinds of sketches, but each time it was just all messed up, either got too cluttered or I ran out of space... in the end, after countless attempts over several months, it ended up being a set of 6 A4 sheets, 2 characters on each... sorry, but that's the best I could do for now. And I'm very thankful to my dear friend for combining all these once I was done.

Anyways, lets go through the characters:

ElecMan (MegaMan, 1987)
Representing the very first game is ElecMan. No surprise here, he was almost everyone's favourite XD
Cool design, hardest Robot Master of his game without exploiting his weakness, best weapon. As far as the original game goes, he was the coolest.

SnakeMan (MegaMan 3, 1990)
Next is pretty much my most favourite Robot Master of them all. While many fans choose ShadowMan as their MM3 favourite, I always loved this slithery robot. He was just so fresh and original, while most other bosses so far were made to represent some sort of element (fire, ice, electricity) or weapon (boomerangs, shields, explosives), he was the first to come with an animal motif instead, and a much more unique weapon. Plus, he looks just so damn awesome with his sly smirk, that he has not only on his stage select portrait, but his in-game sprite as well.
And to top it off, he has the coolest stage theme out of the whole series.

MetalMan (MegaMan 2,1988)
Another one that's not really a surprise. MM2 was a pretty awesome sequel, hailed by many as the best part of the series. And while it's certainly an amazing game and best starting point due to it's lesser difficulty, I don't really see it as even close to "best". Still, the sawblade throwing MetalMan was an instant fav.

TornadoMan (MegaMan 9, 2008)
After the classic Blue Bomber has been gone for 10 years, it came back to it's 8-bit look. The game was refreshingly great, with some of the best stages and gameplay the series had to offer. And while most people were hyped for the first female Robot Master, SplashWoman, I was much more taken by this guy, partially to his cool Tasmanian Devil-inspired half-whirlwind animation XD

Pluto (MegaMan V, 1994)
This guy might be he most obscure one here. Pluto comes from MegaMan V for the good ol' Gameboy, which was an odd part to say the least. For one, all other MM games for the GB had a theme of using 4 bosses from one game, and 4 from the next one, the fifth one had a completely original cast of bosses. Second, said new bosses were named after planets instead of Man. Third, MegaMan actually loses onscreen to another robot, and in the intro cutscene no less.
Despite it's obscurity however, that game is still one of the best, and definitely worth checking out (it's available on the virtual console on WiiU & 3DS).
Also, if you think Pluto is a SlashMan knockoff, he was actually the first one, since MMv predates MM7 by a year, he also has a cooler design and much cooler attacks than SlashMan.

BurnerMan (MegaMan & Bass, 1998)
Say hello to our token psycho ("Burn. Burn! BURN TO THE GROUND!!), while not as obscure as Pluto, he's not exactly well-known either. MegaMan & Bass, or more accurately RockMan & Forte, came out for the SNES as one of the last titles, and was actually released after MM8, which was a PSX title, so it's no wonder it flew under the radar and many fans didn't even know it existed. Still, that game was pretty much the best of it's era, offering great gameplay, some awesome boss designs, and a ton of collectibles for the fans.
And yes, he is a batshit insane pyromaniac, hence why I wanted to draw him in a WRYYYYYYY pose.

TomahawkMan (MegaMan 6, 1993)
MM6 as a whole, had in my opinion, the best cast of bosses. They were all so amazingly designed and had such unique abilities, it was truly a magnificent sendoff to the NES. Yet when it comes to my favourite among these great designs, it's definitely TomahawkMan (with KnightMan being a veeeeery close second), his overall design coupled with that rad axe-hand just wins it for me. Plus, his stage theme is second only to SnakeMan's.

NitroMan (MegaMan 10, 2010)
By the time we hit the 10th instalment, most themes were either overdone or a bit too quirky. Even Nitroman, as awesome as he is, was basically a redone TurboMan. Luckily, he does have a few things that help his stand out.

ClownMan (MegaMan 8, 1996)
After the lackluster cast of MM7, MM8 introduced some really amazing designs in the sequel... yet fucked it all up by giving them the worst possible English dub (worse than MMX7... maybe even worse than MMX4), because no matter how original the bosses were or how unique their fights were, you just wanted to get it over with to make those damn voices stop...
A real shame, cause it was genuinely fun seeing this guy and even more fun fighting him.

CrystalMan (MegaMan 5, 1992)
Now this guy is among my favs for a completely different reason. You see, back in the day MegaMan had a really awesome animated series, and the first episode I've seen was the one with CrystalMan, who looked really badass in it, so I really took a liking to him. Of course, that doesn't mean he's not a great boss in his own right.
Plus, MM5 is actually my favourite part.

SkullMan (MegaMan 4, 1991)
And lastly, we have out edgy duo, because every series needs it's bit of edge. First is everyone's favourite robotic skeleton, SkullMan. This Russian developed is another popular choice, partially due to a weaker cast aside form him. Seriously, even though I still love this game, I can't help but feel it was one of the lower points as far as bosses go, with this one surprisingly cool one to overshadow them all... heh, I guess Dr. Cossack was just drunk when developing these.

ShadeMan (MegaMan 7, 1995)
And last but not least, ShadeMan, similarly to his boney robotic brother, this guy stood out among his fellow bosses. It was surprising how despite the jump to 16-bit and some great gameplay during the stages, the bosses, while having some more detailed and fleshed out designs, felt poor when compared to their 8-bit predecessors (or ridiculous in SpringMan's case)... except for this one robotic vampire with an awesome design and an equally awesome weapon.

Hope you enjoyed the art.

Well, I described the process and time it took in my description.
Indeed, it has been a tedious piece of work, but I am very happy with the outcome.

Glad to hear my work has caught your attention so much ^^

And what can I say, the MegaMan series is one I definitely recommend, those are some really amazing and challenging platformers. And since it has many collection editions, it shouldn't be hard to get.
