They'd been close once.

A presence almost as close as Paxton's in her youth, Benji considered her sister, Petra, highly, loved her dearly; for a wolf with an already fractured family finding another she could call hers was more valued than the breath in her chest -- and the two appeared to share that, confiding in one another, finding comfort in the quiet so long as they were together.

It was simply another fracture when another death drove the sisters apart. Petra opting to isolate herself, Benji not grasping why she wasn't wanted around -- young and dumb and hurt, she settled on this confusion until it boiled to anger, pent up loathing for this abandonment despite ever efforts to be there for Petra.

It only made sense that when Tundes split into three, the two wouldn't see eye to eye, though some part of Benji wanted them to -- she, instead, choked down that anger and let it roil as vitriol, damning her sister to the south and herself to the cliffs.

As her own little family began to form, Benji's resentment for Petra's strange rejection slowly settled into an ache she could deal with. Peace. Almost. For the flood of Taika worried the Warden to no end, whether her sister was alive or dead, whether she'd be allowed to at least find her body if it wasn't, trying to ignore the guilt in her chest for how cruel she'd been all that time ago.

But in the nature of sisters, it only made sense they'd find each other again -- older, maybe not wiser and maybe not good as they could be, but maybe a little better than they used to be -- and it was in the nature of sisters that their reunion is gentle and elated as the pair try to come some sense of normalcy together.

Benji only hoped they could become close as they once were, even if they were bound to be worlds apart again.
