“You really don’t get it, do you? When I found myself in this body, seeing out of these eyes, I was already a man. I guess you could say that I’m an unwelcome tenant.” The Ringleader shrugged.
“And what the hell does that mean?” Keep him distracted. Keep him talking. While she repeated this mantra to herself, Mabel’s eyes scanned the truck for any tool to help her escape.
“It means that there’s Richard, and then there’s me. He’s like my older twin, except we share the same body. No one was there to give me a name at birth, unlike that sonofabitch, so I gave myself a name. Therefore, if you’d stop calling me Richard, I’d appreciate it a hell of a lot.”
“So, what’s your name?”
He rolled his eyes. “I told you, I’m the Ringleader of the circus. You sure do ask a lot of questions, Pretty Miss."
