Any idiot can use Streamline or Trace Bitmap in flash,
Why don't you do some proper, original vector work in illustrator to prove yourself?
Can you use gradient filters and meshes? By the look of your work, I don't think so.
People of Deviantart:: there is better, original vector work here. Seek it out and add it to your favourites, instead of this painting by numbers crap

Hum...any idiot can tell the difference between Streamline or Trace Bitmap in flash, so unless you are very sure of exactly what you are saying, don't say, first, this piece IS done in Illustrator, and using my own hand (Or mouse Rather...), and it did took me 26 hours, people like ~yajido can psinrove it since he seen my work process, and I sent him previews as I work.
I wasn't feeling like I should take any notice of what you have said, since it was untrue, but I dislike people calling me fake...
So I uploaded a pic proving that I have done it in illustrator,
Click to see --=======----> [link]
I would like a public apology from you, by first, calling me a fake, second denied my work, and just for your infomation, I can use gradient filters and meshes nicely, just that I don't use them, I like the blocky feeling, everyone have their own style, it's the same as some ppl like to make website using Dreamweaver, and some people like to make website by using HTML typed on Notepad...

Firstly, I did not call you a 'fake' as you put it.
Secondly, you'll get no public apology from me.
If you can't handle my observations and criticisms, then thats your problem.
It basically bolis down to the fact that I don't think your work is that original, and you don't like it.
This work has been done before, and its been done better (see [link] ) I'll give you 10 out of 10 for effort, as 26 hours is one hell of a long time to sit infront of a screen waiting for flash to trace a hi res image. Maybe you need a new processor.

hm... i think it is a bit strange that you compare a vector piece like this with the vector art of designchapel. the style and colors are just totally different. if you analyze pieces of art always like this, you donΒ΄t seem to be able to see even the most obvious differences in style.^
picasso and rembrandt are the same style, right?
i think it is quite easy to argue like this and it is even easier to insult people with skill without being able to argue in a professional way. but the easiest thing is definetely to say, something is not original and link to something which is what i just said - something different. the only things those works have in common are the term "vector".
just as in paintings there is a lot of possibilities in style, you should look "a bit closer", if you canΒ΄t see it. lunarfall definetely has adorable skills (and maybe too much time ). his style is his own and that is what makes his pictures so special and outstanding.
btw. iΒ΄ve used streamline too and after hours trying to vectorise a bitmap clearly iΒ΄ve erased the results and the programme from my HD - too much frustration. streamline is not intelligent enough to make shapes look like they do here. and flash...
to lunar: if you donΒ΄t post anything any more just because auf this really very experienced guy - he knows a lot more about vectors than we all - then it is your decision. i just donΒ΄t think that it is clever. just as bakasama said: donΒ΄t let such a guy bring you down. i experienced that with my older posts too. and i was so stupid to delete them...
great skills, keep it up +fav
regards, flo

I've used both programs before to try to trace a bitmap. No matter what settings I used I always had to throw the results away. There is no way I believe that this was a trace bitmap. And even if it was, I'd have to beat you up to get info on what settings you used
And of course, no matter how you make something, it wouldn't affect my opinion on if it was good art or not. Who cares about the process if the end result is still really good?
Ah well.. good stuff. Don't let the negative people bring ya down.

Officially the most +faved vector on DA ever. I like it, and I can see all the effort that went into. Much admired, the clothes are very beautiful. I dont like her skin, though. There are a lot of lines moving down her cheek and I know the photo reference leads that way, but I never liked that style. Overall though, an inspiring peice.

lunarfall In reply to ajd [2004-03-11 20:01:27 +0000 UTC]
yeh...the lines moving down from her cheek was hard to do actually, casue of the lighting tat is suppos to happen, I use to do frontal lightings, to make as little heavy shadows on the face as possible, just trying something different here, and I don't really like to use gradients in my pieces...I like the blocky feeling ,
Well, different people have different opinions~ I'm glad you are inspired anyways

I love the oriental flavour. And it's so intimate b/c this woman does not appear to be a geisha and for an avg woman to show so much skin&tattoo makes her all the more enticing! Well done.

You have the most detailed and careful vectoring style I've seen.
Granted, I've only been on this website since last night...
But still, this is amazing.
I have to wonder, though... did this just come out of your head, or did you use a reference photo?
+fav for this and devwatch for you, most definitely.
